Official Grand Opening
Yes we have been open for a couple of months now, but that was to work out all “the kinks”. (Great Band)
Starting off new year and these wet days ahead of us for the time being, we want to introduce ourselves to the neighborhood, not that the big red building goes un-noticed. While maintaining close ties to the neighborhood, The Temple Bar which is owned by the previous purveyors of the Blackthorn and employs some of the previous bar tenders, some of which have worked at the location for close to 20 years.
We would like to extend an invitation to all our neighbors and patrons to our official Grand Opening party week-end on Friday 28th of February, Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of March.
Ivor Collins will play live sets on Friday evening and the Gas Men will play a traditional Irish session on Saturday afternoon. Both acts will be followed up by DJ Seven and DJ Anya DFWM at 9:30pm till late.
Please feel free to try some of our signature cocktails or some of the classics which we display on our house menus, those include Mocktails.
We have 21 Draft beers, 8 bottled beers, 10 Non-Alcoholic Beers.
For our Guinness lovers, we keep our Guinness in a separate cooler with its own Glycol system (cools the beer lines) so that our Guinness is served at the correct temperature and pressure. All beers have an optimum serving temperature but most beers can beer served from a regular keg room, Guinness is best served chilled, between 38–42°F while most keg rooms are kept around 36°F.
We are also providing entertainment on most nights. Becoming very popular is Tuesday Night Trivia (7-9), Wednesday Bingo (7-9), Thursday Night Live set by Byron Rhymes and Grateful for the Blues. Karaoke will be making a comeback in the coming weeks. Friday and Saturday Nights will be a mixture of Live acts and DJs.
